    This course will explore past, current and future trends of sports and their impact on society. This course will give students hands-on integrated educational experience to enhance their professional skills and knowledge. Literature, discussions, multi-media presentations and video content will be used to survey the evolution of sports and social issues. Topics will focus on the interaction of sport in the areas of youth, high school, college and professional athletics, athletes with disabilities, politics, sexual/gender orientation, women, e-sports, doping, local sport, extreme sports, end of career, and finally spectators view of sport. Understanding how physical activity impacts culture will help students gain an appreciation for the important role sports play in the development of society.
