    Description
    This course covers various aspects of Japanese culture. Areas of study include geography, history, literature, art, philosophy, religion, and customs of Japan. Students will study a variety of materials to discuss Japanese culture and its relationship to other cultures of the world. This JA 21H is enriched with extended reading and an additional writing project based on a novel, providing a deeper understanding of Japanese culture. The class is taught in English, and no knowledge of Japanese is required. Credit offered in JA 21 or JA 21H, but not for both.
