The course explores the mapping and spatial analysis capabilities of desktop GIS software (e.g., ArcView, ArcGIS, MapInfo); the management, manipulation and analysis of data; cartographic design and presentation; raster and vector data structures; georeferencing and Global Positioning Systems (GPS); and basic GIS programming.
