    Prerequisite
    ET 92, Analyze (predict or calculate the behavior or change in behavior of) a given passive DC electric circuit or device. Test and measure specified parameters of a given passive DC electric circuit or device using standard laboratory test equipment and procedures. Troubleshoot (identify a faulty component in) a given malfunctioning passive DC electric circuit or device. Design (specify all components and interconnections of) and construct a passive DC electric circuit to perform a specified function. Evaluate the feasibility of a proposed design for a DC n electronic circuit or system intended to satisfy given standards of performance subject to given constraints. Select from a range of DC electronic devices or circuits the one most suitable for a specified application, subject to given constraints. Specify which tests or measurements would be necessary to confirm or disprove a given hypothetical diagnosis of a malfunctioning DC electronic circuit or system, given the symptoms. Apply standard estimating techniques to quickly determine if a solution to an otherwise time-consuming or intractable engineering problem involving DC electric circuits can be rejected in advance

    Description
    This course studies basic solid-state devices and their application circuits. Students test devices such as diodes, LEDs, transistors and thyristors and measure their characteristics. The course covers the analysis, troubleshooting, and design of solid-state application circuits, including rectifiers, switching circuits, and amplifiers.
