    Description
    This course is an introduction to the history and performance of West African dance of the Empire of Mali. Students will study, practice and perform traditional West African dances and drum rhythms from the Empire of Mali. The course explores the components of West African dance as it relates to community, movement, music, theme, season, and organization of the dance. All classes are aerobic in nature. Field trips may be required.
