Students will be introduced to African folk and cultural dance movements and song forms including poly rhythms, vocalizations and integration of movement to live drumming. This course examines the way that African dance functions as a social and cultural expression, focusing on universal elements such as drumming, singing, storytelling, community, and the environment.
