- This course is an introduction to two-dimensional design and color. Students learn to organize the visual elements of line, shape, color, value, and texture according to established principles of art. Emphasis is placed on manual skill and dexterity. ART 40 is required of art majors but is open to all students. C-ID: ARTS 100
