The course investigates the relationship between language and culture; subsistence strategies; social organization; marriage and family patterns; systems of kinship and descent; economic, political, and religious systems; psychological anthropology; components of cultural change and the impact of globalization on language and culture. This honors course will be enriched through limited class size, seminar format, more extensive reading and analysis of primary research, participation in first hand fieldwork culminating in a final project - can be conducted on campus, and oral presentation.
