    Description
    This course emphasizes the nature, origins and purposes of religion through a broad range of cultural examples. Emphasis will be placed on the identification of myth and symbolism, the analysis of roles of varied religious practitioners, the relevance of magic, witchcraft and sorcery and evaluation of religious change.
