    Description
    This course examines the critical elements of federal, state, and relevant administrative and procedural laws as they affect the rights and duties of citizens and the police. Emphasis is on the interpretation and enforcement of provisions of the California Penal, Welfare and Institutions, Health and Safety and Vehicle codes. The course examines judicial limitations on the legal and procedural powers of peace officers, such as constitutional restraints on peace officers' arrest, search and seizure powers.
