    Description
    This AESL course prepares advanced English language learners for jobs as instructional assistants at U.S. elementary schools. Emphasis will be on developing the vocabulary and oral communication skills needed to interact with students and teachers. In addition, students will build cultural awareness of the American education system. Class activities include learning school-related terminology, listening to example conversations, reading notes and emails from teachers and school staff, participating in role plays, and applying for jobs at local K-12 schools. This is a noncredit, open-entry/open-exit course.
