    Description
    This course covers the theory and practices pertaining to payroll preparation and accounting, including federal and state payroll tax forms, and laws and regulations affecting the payroll function. Students gain experience in computing wages; calculating social security, income, and unemployment taxes; preparing payroll tax forms; analyzing payroll transactions; and posting transactions in the general ledger. The course is designed to assist those preparing for a career in accounting, finance, or business management; a career concentration in payroll; or certifications such as the Payroll Fundamental Certification (PFC) or the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).
