    The first of three eight-week courses designed to provide a progressive and sequential study of common alterations in health of the respiratory, reproductive, and special senses systems with a focus on the care of adults and pediatric patients in a medical or surgical setting. Transition from wellness to illness is emphasized. Concepts acquired in previous courses, patient-centered care, and professionalism are applied with increasing complexity for individuals of all ages. Physiological, psychological emotional, cultural, and social concepts are integrated into the planning and implementation of nursing care. Concurrent classroom and clinical experience are provided.
