Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThe nursing process is used to assess the needs of and devise a plan of care for the pregnant woman throughout the maternity cycle in an integrative, family-centered approach. Consideration is given to the physiological, psychosocial, cultural and economic factors which have impact on the mother, infant, and the family as a whole. Course content is focused on the normal responses to pregnancy; however, common disorders of the ante- intra- postnatal periods are presented. The neonate is viewed from a normal perspective, with disorders common to the newborn also presented.
