    An overview of the leadership and management process as it relates to management of patient care is presented, examined, and analyzed. Principles of critical thinking, application of such skills, and contemporary issues or concepts are discussed. Standards of practice and the significance of functioning according to state regulations are addressed. Effective communication and accountability are emphasized as attributes of the professional nurse. Clinical application is integrated into VN 112 and all subsequent nursing courses.
