    Description
This course is a survey of literary texts produced and created by Chicanas and Chicanos from the 19th century to the present. It is an introductory investigation that explores the foundational contexts (historical, sociopolitical, cultural, and economic); literary origins and influences; and characteristic tropes, topics, themes, and traditions related to Chicana/o literature. The surveyed works may include excerpts in several languages and dialects, including but not limited to Spanish, Spanglish, Caló, Nahuatl, and Mayan.
