Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is the fourth phase of training to prepare individuals to render prehospital advanced life support within an organized EMS system based on course content that is equivalent to the current U.S. Department of Transportation's National Education Standards for Paramedics. This course is designed to allow progression of the paramedic student in advanced didactic and skills training. This course will cover assessment-based management, all aspects of operations, including: ambulance operations, medical incident command (SEMS-ICS), rescue awareness & operations, hazardous materials, crime scene awareness, rural EMS, bioterrorism and weapons of mass destruction. Included in this course will be the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Course and the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course, as well as paramedic treatments and skills associated with the above core content.
