Students will study intercultural communication among people in the United States as well as various cultures around the world. Emphasis is placed on the influence of cultures, languages, and social patterns on group member relationships among themselves and with members of different ethnic and cultural groups. Theory and knowledge of effective communication within and between cultures will be discussed.
