    Description
    Introduces skills in critical analysis and query to promote advocacy. Students will analyze and evaluate oral and written arguments by identifying fallacies, testing evidence and evidence sources, advancing reasoned positions, and defending and refuting arguments. This will result in one-on-one debates presented in front of a live audience and evaluated by a faculty member. Topics will focus on domestic and international current events, with an emphasis on social justice issues. Not open to students having completed COM 20 with a "C" or better.
