    Description
    The second semester of a one-year course in organic chemistry. Intended for majors in the natural sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, pre-medicine, pre-dental, pre-veterinary, pre-pharmacy) and chemical engineering. Principles of organic chemistry: bonding, structure, structure elucidation using modern instrumental methods, nomenclature, stereochemistry, and reactions, reaction mechanisms, and synthesis of the following functional groups: alcohols, ethers, carbonyl compounds, carboxylic acids and derivatives, amines, phenols, and selected biomolecules.
