Students will investigate the transmission of traits from one generation to the next, the molecular structure of genes and gene products, the regulation of gene expression, and factors affecting gene frequencies in populations. Students will also analyze the social, legal and ethical implications of advances in genetic technology as applied to medicine and biotechnology.
