Covering the periods from the early hunting and gathering societies through the development of farming villages and civilizations, this course provides an overview of the principal civilizations, the Aztec and Maya, at the time of European contact and the aftermath of the Spanish conquest to fully comprehend the stage of contemporary indigenous cultures of Mexico and Central America. It is intended for both beginning anthropology majors and general education students.
