This course also introduces the visual arts across time and through diverse cultures with an emphasis on function, meaning, and style. This course includes topics such as: Defining Art: Functions; Visual Elements of Art; Principles of Design, Media and Techniques; Methodologies of Art History and Art Criticism; museum and gallery visits; and an overview of art history from a local and global perspective.
