Emphasis is placed on the cultural and ethnic roots of rock music styles, with emphasis on the African-American contribution to multiple sub-genres of rock music. Other multi-cultural influences in rock music will be explored, including Latin American, Mexican American, Afro-Cuban, and Caribbean influenced music. Exploration of American interpretation and presentation of the various rock musical influences throughout the twentieth and twenty-first century are central to the content of the course.Usually HeldTue Thu 1:30pm–2:55pm
