    Description
    This course is a survey of music of selected cultures outside the tradition of Western classical and popular music. Emphasis is given to traditional and contemporary music from the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Audio recordings and filmed examples introduce the student to instrumental and vocal techniques, musical structures, and performance contexts.
