    Description
    Formerly: Modern and Contemporary Art History. This course is a survey of global modern and contemporary art and architecture from the 19th century to the present day. Key avant-garde artworks, artists, art movements, and architectural styles will be examined from historical perspectives as well as within their social, political, and cultural contexts. Art forms such as painting, sculpture, photography, performance, printmaking, and video will be studied. A range of themes will also be explored including gender and sexuality, spirituality, the environment, political dissent, memory, and the body. C-ID: ARTH 150.
