    Description
    SOC 101H introduces students to sociology: its basic concepts, theoretical approaches, methods, and resources. We explore social structures, group dynamics, stratification, culture and diversity, social change, and global dynamics. Course objectives include the ability to apply sociological ideas to everydaylife. Thehonorscourseisenhanced in one or more of the following ways: 1. Studentshaveanincreasedresponsibilityfor leading class discussions and critical thinking exercises. 2. Homework assignments focus on critical thinking and analyzing importanttopicsrelatedtosociology.
