    HIST 133H is a seminar, colloquial-style discussionthatexaminestheforcesinhistory that led to the development of the scientific method and the relevance of the idea of Scientific Revolutions. Students explore the development of science in Western civilization. Topics include how science is impacted by socio-political developments, race, and gender while presenting an overview of key turning points such as the Copernican Revolution, the Newtonian Revolution, the Darwinian Revolution, Pasteur and the medical revolution, and the Einstein Revolution. Take this course to understand how major shifts in scientific thinking have shaped modern industrialized society and its culture. The honors course is enhanced in one or more of the following ways: 1. Students complete additional readings from the geographic literature and answer additionaltestquestions.2.Additionalhomework assignmentsfocusedoncriticalthinkingand geographic analysis. 3. Students complete an original,individualresearchprojectorpaper and present the findings to the class.
