The course emphasizes theselectionandanalysisoftextualevidence and the application of logical and traditional reasoning,inquiry-drivenresearchfocusing on literature and literary analysis to produce thoughtful arguments. Writing skills are taughtusingliteraturefromdiverseperspectives (both fiction and non-fiction) and literary criticism as subject matter. Students also receiveinstructioninliteraryresearch,apply revision strategies to refine their work, and completeafullydocumentedresearchpaper. Students develop a broader understanding of the human condition through the study of literature from a range of time periods and cultures.
