    EMS 246 introduces the paramedic to concepts in assessing and meeting the emergency care needs of the geriatric, neonate, pediatric and special needs patients. The course will focus on epidemiology, pathophysiology, assessment, and treatment of these patient demographics. The course also integrates medical and trauma assessments of these patients with psychosocial, ethnocultural, legal, and ethical considerations for these(andall)patients.Thiscourseaddresses how to treat these diverse populations who may require adjustments to traditional treatment and assessment modalities.
