Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course includes essentials of college algebra and trigonometry for STEM students who want to prepare for success in Calculus I. Topics include basic algebraic concepts, inequalities, systems of equations, functions and graphs, linear and quadratic functions, polynomial functions of higher degree, rational functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions, and analytical trigonometry. PREREQUISITE Placement as determined by the college’s multiple measures assessment process or completion of a course taught at or above the level of intermediate algebra. Enrollment in this course will be limited to STEM students who meet one of the following requirements: 1. Student earned a high school GPA of 2.6 or lower OR 2.
