Topics will include the sustainability and stewardship of various ecosystems, environmental hazards such as air and water pollution, waste disposal, pesticides and herbicides, the impact of commercial and industrial activities, as well as population and urbanization. Basic chemistry, physics, and geology will be used throughout the course to explain and expand on these topics. The concepts will be reinforced with an integrated service learning laboratory program.
