Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is an introduction to field ecology and it includes the natural history of selected plants and animals. This course will also review concepts in general biology, and discuss the adaptation of plants and animals to the natural environment of California. In this course, we will use biological field techniques to assess a selected habitat, in an attempt to identify the interactions between organisms and their environment. We will also discuss the ecological impact of the human population on life. This course will also require the planning and the execution of a project. This course may involve camping or other outdoor physical activity. This course has the option of a letter grade or pass/no pass. ADVISORY: High-school English reading and writing skills, and math skills equivalent to Intermediate Algebra are recommended.
