Topics include: cellular chemistry; biological molecules; structure and function of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells; cell transport; bioenergetics and enzymes; cell metabolism including respiration and photosynthesis; cellular communication; cell reproduction and its controls; Mendelian and non-Mendelian genetics; molecular genetics; DNA structure and function; gene expression; biotechnology; origin and evolution of life and molecular evolution; and scientific inquiry.
