This course offers an Introduction to the standard operatic repertoire in terms of development of vocal style, dramatic structure, and performance tradition. This course emphasizes appreciation of the art of operatic singing, focusing on voice classification, vocal range and techniques, and dramatic values. Students are offered opportunities for attendance at operatic performances. Field trips may be required outside of regularly-scheduled class times. Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass option.
