    Description
    54 hours lecture per term. This course is a description of the broad geologic features of North America with special emphasis on the U.S. National Parks and Monuments. Photographic slides and rock samples will be used to illustrate the geologic significance of the parks and monuments. Utilizing the plate tectonic theory, a geologic history of North America will be deduced from the descriptive geology. Field trips may be required outside of regularly-scheduled class times.
