This course presents an overview of life in the sea. Lectures, labs and field-work provide an introduction to the diversity of marine organisms and the physical and biological processes that influence their structure, life history, physiology, behavior, ecology and distribution. An emphasis is placed on the interactions of these organisms and processes in a variety of marine habitats. Marine ecology and conservation are also discussed.
