    In this course, students will explore advanced harmonic and formal techniques from late‑Romantic to contemporary practice, including extended tertian harmony, post‑tonal set theory, serialism, modality, and other contemporary concepts. Students will apply these ideas through analytical writing, score reading, and original composition. Concurrent enrollment in MUS 7D: Ear Training IV is required. (A, CSU, UC)
