    Description
    This course is a survey of major mass mediums and their influence on the artistic and cultural expression of contemporary society. From books through the internet, and from pop culture to advertising, public relations, media law and ethics, a close examination of the historical and technological developments that have shaped the structures and practices of mass media as well as emerging trends in mass communication, audiences, and technologies. Students learn analytical skills to help become critical consumers and developers of media. (A, CSU, UC, Cal-GETC)
