The curriculum is based on the 2019 edition of NFPA 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications. The five overarching themes of the California State Fire Fighter II curriculum are: general knowledge germane to the profession, fire department communications, fireground operations, rescue operations, and prevention, preparedness, and maintenance.
