Through hands-on experience in a structure built on a permanent site, students will learn to design and install waste, water supply, and gas piping systems, as well as properly install plumbing fixtures. Instruction emphasizes correct installation techniques, system layout, safety practices, and the application of plumbing codes that govern design, installation, and inspection processes. Students will gain familiarity with the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) and inspection procedures, preparing them for potential industry certification through the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (I.A.P.M.O.) and/or the International Code Council (I.C.C.).
