Students discover, develop, and critically analyze ideas in public discourse through research, reasoning, organization, composition, delivery to a live audience, and evaluation of various types of speeches, including informative and persuasive speeches. This is an honors course. This honors course provides enhanced academic rigor with expectations that exceed those of the standard version. Expanded opportunities include in-depth examination of speech text within historical context, speeches, papers, creative individual and group projects, historical oral interpretation, and enrichment activities. The course offers accelerated students with additional academic challenge in the areas of research, discussion, analysis and reflection, and intellectual exploration of ideas.Usually HeldWed 10:00am–11:50am
