Topics include atomic structure, the periodic table, the three states of matter, energy, chemical bonding in ionic and molecular compounds, nomenclature, measurement and the metric system, chemical reactions and equations, solutions, acids, bases, salts and electrolyte systems. The course includes active learning and student-to-student learning strategies to promote meaningful and productive work to ensure the success of all students.
