    In risk management the project manager works to minimize any potential issues that may impact a project's timetable negatively. The project manager also monitors for any risks, negative or positive (risk opportunities), associated with the project's performance or budget. Through the life cycle of risk management, the project manager identifies, analyzes, and monitors risks that may occur to keep the project schedule and meet its goals. Risk management needs to be proactive through constant monitoring, not a reactive approach to managing risk. Quality is the often forgotten fourth constraint in planning. In contrast, planning is key to ensure quality in the project. Let's analyze the importance of quality to successfully meet conformance to project requirements and fitness of use. Quality standards and methodologies are discussed to focus on managing it proactively as well as how the process defines the standards that are used in project deliverables. The cost of poor quality is explained, as well as the cost/benefit associated with quality processes and procedures.
