It includes information on history, religion, philosophy, visual arts, and literature. It additionally covers music and later art forms such as film. This course emphasizes Arab, Persian, African, and Asian contributions in the Islamic lands and in Diaspora. Attending pertinent cultural events, at students' expense may be required.
