Transfers ToCSUCSU GE Area EDescriptionThis course emphasizes style, technical precision, strength, agility, and the cultivation of urban dance somatics. Dance combinations will introduce new styles and increase the degree of difficulty with center floor work. Urban Hip Hop III dance combinations will be taught covering various styles within hip hop dance genre, and students will work in groups to create a final presentation that expands the teacher choreographed dance into a full length performance piece, utilizing choreographic elements and student choreography. The theoretical emphasis of this course will cover the development of the various styles of hip hop dance including, but not limited to: b-boying/b-girling, breaking, krumping, popping, locking, and tutting. Low traction, comfortable athletic shoes and loose fitting clothing will be required, and some students may wish to wear knee pads.Usually HeldTue Thu 1:00pm–2:20pm
