- An interdisciplinary introduction to Native American cultures and societies from ancient origins to the present with a particular focus on the period from the 15th century to the present. The course examines themes of identities, sovereignty, political developments, race, resistance, revitalization, ethnogenesis, assimilation, decolonization, and resilience of American Indian nations through American Indian sources, traditions, and theories.
