    Description
    This course will provide students with contextual knowledge and on-the-ground training that will prepare them to be successful prescribed fire practitioners. Students will build on skills gained in Introduction to Prescribed Fire Fundamentals and gain more in-depth knowledge of and practice planning and obtaining and permits, completing site preparation, setting hose-lays and using pumps, communicating, applying fire with drip torches in various firing patterns, and implementing safe fire monitoring and mop-up. This course involves rigorous activity, including travel on steep and uneven ground and possible exposure to smoke.
