    Description
This class will focus on Sierra Nevada ecosystems, the people native to this land, and their interaction and relationship with and management of the environment. Students will learn about perspectives and management techniques outside of the western viewpoints. This includes learning about the genocide of native peoples and the rippling implications on cultures and ecosystems. Students will also learn about the ethics of engaging with tribal communities to protect cultural resources and make land management plans. Indigenous perspectives and practical demonstrations will be prioritized.
