Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThis is the first course in the wildland firefighter training series. This course provides students with entry level firefighter skills for wildland fire incidents. This course also provides instruction in wildland fire behavior, hazard recognition, human factors in high risk environments, basic incident command system, radio operations, and documentation. Classroom and field exercises will prepare the student for a position as a Firefighter Type 2 (FF2). This course meets the National Wildfire Coordinating Group’s (NWCG) requirements for S-130/S-190/L-180/I-100 and J-158. This course may be scheduled with to-be-arranged (TBA) hours, where specific meeting days and times will be determined during the semester, closer to the official course start date, to accommodate shifting weather conditions and the availability of support personnel, facilities, and equipment. This course may be taken once and repeated once for credit.
